Toilet Cleaner

Cleaning the toilet certainly isn't the most glamorous job in the world, but at least it isn't hard to do.

Tools for a plastic-free and toxic-free toilet cleaning experience:

1.A toilet brush made with natural bristles and a wooden handle. If your plastic one is still in fine working order, continue to use it until its time is up. Then, invest in a more sustainable, plastic-free option.

2.Plain old rags, old t-shirts, or towels. Easy to wash and reuse and I'm sure you have plenty around. Try to avoid using paper towels as this just creates more non-recyclable waste if you use them with chemicals (see Day 12). And never, never use those disposable cleaning wipes! They are not biodegradable. They are not flushable. They are not safe. For you or the planet.

3.Non-toxic toilet cleaner bombs made only with baking soda, citric acid and essential oils. Simple, safe, and effective.

We sell these at the shop but, here's a recipe, if you are so inclined:

3/4 cup baking soda

1/2 cup citric acid

25 drops of lemon or orange essential oil

1 to 2 tablespoons of water

Mix it together and press into molds for toilet bombs.

4.Replace and refill your bathroom cleaners with non-toxic all-purpose, bathroom, and glass cleaner. Ours are plant-based, eco-friendly, and scented only with 100% organic essential oils.
